Metal caskets which are offered begin with the minimum gauge steel which is 20 gauge and continue with 18 and 16 gauge steel. 20 gauge steel is the weakest of metals.

18 gauge- 59% stronger than 20 gauge and 33% thicker

16 gauge- 136% stronger than 20 gauge and 67% thicker

Stainless steel caskets are rust resistant.

There are two other metals used in the manufacture of caskets; copper and bronze. They are used because these materials are the ultimate in providing natural corrosion-resistance to rust. Copper is available in 32-ounce and Bronze as 32-ounce and 48-ounce per square foot in every casket. Incidentally, Bronze is an alloy of 90% Copper and 10% Zinc.

Another classification available are wood caskets. There is a variety of selected wood and hardwood caskets that have been crafted to show the natural beauty and warmth provided by wood. Some have been hand-rubbed and polished to give the luxurious appearance of fine crafted furniture. While others are left to show their natural appearance.
