Mrs. Nora Gage Howard Ellington, 92, a resident of Lexington Extended Care, and formerly of Brookview Avenue, Kannapolis, NC, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the care facility. |
|
A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. Dr. James Strickland will officiate. |
|
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 a.m until noon Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. |
|
Born October 22, 1917 in Ducktown, TN, she was the daughter of the late Jackson Grady Howard and Meg Nora Mason Howard. She was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Mrs. Ellington was a homemaker and formerly worked in the No. 2 Weave Room of Cannon Mills in Kannapolis. |

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Julian Ellington. |

Survivors include a daughter, Judith E. "Judy" Ridenhour and husband Terry of Lexington, SC; a son, Charles Franklin "Frank" Ellington and wife Sandra of Longwood, NC; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. |
