Bobby Lewis Blackwelder

Mr. Bobby Lewis Blackwelder, Jr., 55, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012, at his home.

A memorial service is scheduled for 7:00 pm Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jay Stewart will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 pm Sunday prior to the service at Lady's Funeral Home

Mr. Blackwelder was born on February 21, 1957 in Stuggart, Germany. He was the son of the late Bobby Lewis Blackwelder, Sr. and Vera Meschke Blackwelder. He worked as a fixer at Plant 4 at Pillowtex until the company closed. After the closing, Mr. Blackwelder became owner/operator of Blackwelder Roofing & Home Repair. His two greatest passions were deer hunting and gardening with his two favorite places being his backyard gardens and Uwharrie National Forest. He attended The Refuge in Concord.

Mr. Blackwelder is survived by his wife, Robin Thompson Blackwelder; seven children, Brant Blackwelder and wife Adrien, Sheena Johnson and husband Joshua, Cliff Blackwelder and friend Rick, Dillon Blackwelder and wife Marlyn, Savannah Blackwelder, Chris Turnmire and Shawn Turnmire and wife Kasey; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Devin, Conner and Kimmie Blackwelder, Kaitlyn, Katherine and Sammy Johnson and Brody Turnmire; two sisters, Connie Marceline and Laura Haggins; two aunts, Lois Sheffield and Mildred Collins; nieces and nephews Lori, Keri, Tyler, Beth Ann, Tina and Timothy; and a special nephew that he raised as his own son, Michael Richardson.
