Burton Peter Clapp

Mr. Burton Peter Clapp, 87, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 6:00 pm Friday at his home, 129 Green Street SW, Concord.

Mr. Clapp was born July 20, 1926 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was a son of the late Albert Clapp and Wilma DeGraff Clapp. Shortly after graduating high school, Burton served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He later owned and operated a carpet business in Kalamazoo before going on to work for the Bradford White Corporation. He was a member of Agape Baptist Church in Zephyr Hills, FL.

Mr. Clapp is survived by his wife, Wanetta Newman Clapp; four children, Alane Srackangast of Concord, Jeff Clapp and wife Gwen of Clover, SC, Carolyn Sutton and husband Jim of Comstock, MI and Joel Clapp and wife Ellen of Albemarle; brother, Ray Clapp of Portage, MI; ten grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
