David Earl Reavis

Mr. David Earl "Butch" Reavis, 57, of 175 Brookhaven Drive, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Don Davis will officiate. Full military rites will be conducted by the US Army at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of his mother, Polly Reavis, 1501 Longbow Drive, Kannapolis. Born August 6, 1949, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of Pauline Yon "Polly" Reavis of Kannapolis and the late David M. Reavis. He retired as a staff sergeant from the US Army after proudly serving his country for 27 years. At the time of his passing, he was employed at University Hospital in the records department. He was a member of Shadybrook Baptist Church. He was a 1967 graduate of A. L. Brown High School and obtained an Associates Degree in finance from Rowan Cabarrus Community College. He was a loving father and grandfather, but most importantly, a best friend to his three boys. Survivors in addition to his mother include, three sons, Christopher Scott Reavis of Raleigh, Brian McKenzie Reavis of Dardanelle, Arkansas and Lars David Galyan, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; four brothers, Douglas W. Reavis of Rockwell, Thomas W. "Tommy" Reavis and Gary P. Reavis, both of Kannapolis and Gene Reavis of Concord; and two grandchildren, McKenzie Leigh Reavis of Clinton, Indiana and Taylor Anne Galyan of Jacksonville, Florida. Memorials may be sent to Shadybrook Baptist Church, 1009 Oakwood Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
