Eugene Anthony Tomczak

Mr. Eugene “Gene” Anthony Tomczak, 81, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Harbourview Care Center in League City, TX.

Gene was born May 13, 1932, in Buffalo, NY. He was a son of the late Frank Tomczak and Helen Dobrynski Tomczak. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After leaving the army, he began studying the Bible and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 19, 1956. Gene was a faithful servant of Jehovah and was an elder of the West Hills Congregation in Grovetown, GA, and recently attended the Almond Creek Congregation in Houston, TX. Gene spent over 35 years with PepsiCo before retiring. His talents and love of music were shared with friends and family as he enjoyed playing the accordion and piano and singing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Wisniewski.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Rebecca “Becky” Willene Shelnut Tomczak; one son, Donald Gene Tomczak of Columbia, SC; one daughter, Donna Jo Tomczak Jones of Archdale, NC; three step-daughters, Kim Annette Rice Davis of Charlotte, NC, Kay Angela Rice Cook of Kannapolis, NC and Karol Anne Rice Druskis of Fletcher, NC; sister, Henrietta Bontor of Long Island, NY; brother, Norman Tomczak of Erie, NY; nine grandchildren, Shaun Paul Tomczak and Kyle Dru Tomczak both of Columbia, SC, Kris Anthony Aaron and Keri Alyse Jones, both of Archdale, NC, Hannah Rebecca Davis, Stephanie Jane Davis and Hayden Alexander Hamilton Davis, all of Charlotte, NC and Tyler Joseph Druskis and Rhylie Morgan Druskis, both of Fletcher, NC.

James and Bill Whitaker will perform a memorial service at a later date in Grovetown.
