Hanna Michele Brotherton

Miss Hanna Michele Brotherton, 22, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019, in Charlotte.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Genesis Baptist Church. Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Miss Brotherton was born January 21, 1997 in Concord. She was the daughter of Michael Wayne Brotherton and Trena Marcum Brotherton. She graduated with Honors from Jesse C. Carson High School, Class of 2015, where she played the flute in the Marching Band all four years. She then went on to achieve her Associates Degree from Rowan Cabarrus Community College, where she also graduated with Honors, and continued into the Orthodontics Program at Lake Norman Dental Assisting School. She was currently enrolled to receive her Bachelors Degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Hanna was looking forward to a bright start of the rest of her future; she had just received a call from Wiry Smiles, offering her a job as an Orthodontic Assistant, and was going to move into her new apartment in Concord this past Saturday. She had previously worked at QT on Lane Street. She also worked with Faithful Friends and loved animals, especially her little Maltipoo, Emma.

Hanna was very artistic, just like her father and grandmother. She loved to draw since she was little, and even received a Savings Bond when she was in the First Grade after being selected by the Rotary Club in Rockwell for her drawing of the American Flag. Hanna also loved photography, often capturing the beauty of nature. She loved guns, archery, cars and collecting knives.

She had finally gotten to ride with her father on his motorcycle for the first time the other day, and had a wonderful outing watching games at the golf course together. Hanna loved to see Darrell Harwood and the Cool Water Band and she followed him almost everywhere he went. She was part of the DH Family. They dedicated their show this past Saturday to her at Lake Tillery.

Hanna was anything but a homebody. She was always out and about and was very active in everything she did in life.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Norma Jane Tutterow Brotherton and James McCall "Mack" Brotherton; maternal grandparents, Alice Marie Williams Marcum and Lonnie Marcum; paternal great grandparents, John E. Tutterow, Willie Ann McDaniel Tutterow, James Brotherton, Sr. and Thelma Corriher Brotherton; maternal great grandparents, French Williams, Carrie Cook Williams, Willie Marcum, Sr. and Evia Porter Marcum; paternal Aunt, Donna Jean Brotherton Pope; and god-grandfather, Holland "Bud" Bost.

In addition to her parents, Miss Brotherton is survived by her beloved fur baby, Emma; uncles, Jeff Brotherton and wife Donna and Ray Pope; aunt, Cindie Marcum Rose and husband Corbett; cousins, Brad Pope and his children Blake and Ellie and Derek Rose and wife Jesse and their children Cadin and Tristin; and god-grandmother, Gaye Nell Bost.

Darrell Harwood and the Cool Water Band will serve as pallbearers.
