Isis Alba Bennett

Mrs. Isis Alba Machuca Bennett, 92, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A funeral service is scheduled for 7:00 pm Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bennett was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico. She was a daughter of the late Ambrosio Machuca and Aurora Sotomayer Machuca. She retired from Cannon Mills where she worked in the washcloth department. She was a member of Kannapolis Church of God. She also enjoyed activities and friends at the Coltrane L.I.F.E. Center in Concord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Donald “Don” Ray Bennett; two sisters, Irma Machuca and Iris Gracia; brother, Ambrosio Machuca, Jr.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her son, David R. Bennett and wife Hyoung Bennett of Cleveland, TN; daughter, JoAnn Smith husband Hilton Grady Smith, Jr. of Concord; six grandchildren, Marla Bennett Ford, Donald Patrick Bennett, Bonnie Rae Bennett, Travis Ross Smith, Patrick Wallace Bennett and Katelyn Mackenzie Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Cooper Ross Smith, Adeline Louise Smith, Isaac Judah Bennett, Maybel Lib Smith and Seth Cayden Ford.
