Miss Jennifer Ervin, 19, went home Saturday, February 24, 2018.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3:00 pm Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home in Kannapolis.

Jennifer was born April 29, 1998 in Concord. She was a daughter to Michael and Tammy Ervin. She graduated as Salutatorian in 2016 from Rowan County Early College and was an active student at East Carolina University. There as a biology major her passion was to help others. Part of her personal mission was to volunteer in the community and to advocate for the rights of the LBGTQ community.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Lorene Shue, Jack and Mary Hare (Glenn's BBQ), Floyd Long and Betty Jean Miller.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Heather Ervin of China Grove; three brothers, Justin M. Ervin and wife, Felicia of China Grove, Travis R. Allen and wife Amanda of Newark, OH and Aaron Ervin of China Grove; two nephews, Oliver Ervin and Zane Allen; grandparents, Paul and Judy Richards of China Grove, Linda and Ben Woods of Kannapolis and John and Toni Upright of Landis; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be sent in the form of donations to East Carolina University, B-103 Brewster Building, Greenville, NC 27858 with designations for the money to go to Department of Intercultural Affairs or the LGBT Resource Office.
