Mr. Johnny Lee Foutz, 69, died Sunday morning, January 10, 2016, at his home.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. Mrs. Janice Wensil will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 5:00 pm Thursday at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
Mr. Foutz was born September 25, 1946 in Concord. He was the son of the late Clyde Bernard Foutz and Irene Troutman Foutz. Johnny was an adventurer at heart from embracing technology as a mainframe computer programmer in the sixties, to panning for gold, to raising three headstrong daughters. He was a loving father, an avid reader, a conspiracy theorist, a devoted fan of Walker, Texas Ranger, a fisherman, and a black belt in karate.
Mr. Foutz is survived by three daughters, Nicki Foutz Payne of Covington, GA, Emily Foutz of Charlotte, NC, and Jackie Foutz of Kannapolis, NC; four grandchildren, Rhys and Graham Payne of Covington, GA, Drew Linville and Cole Foutz of Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church, 6001 Old Salisbury-Concord Rd., Kannapolis, NC 28083.
