Margaret Elizabeth Long

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Lee Long, 89, a resident of Concord Place, and formerly of Pagemont Drive, Kannapolis, died Monday, February 2, 2009, at Tucker Hospice House. A private graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Dave Cash will officiate. Born March 22, 1919 in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Rufus Lee and Ila Hartsell Lee. She retired several years ago from the ticket office of Cannon Mills. Mrs. Long was a member of Midway United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis A. Long, who died July 6, 1982. Survivors include a son, John Long of Kannapolis; three granddaughters, Crystal Waller, Amy Garmon and husband Kevin, Karen Moses and husband Kevin; four great-grandchildren, Craig Waller, Ashley Mills, Cal Garmon, and Kasey Anne Moses; and a great-great-granddaughter, Margaret Mills.
