Angie Elizabeth Moser

April 18, 1916 — November 7, 2003

On November 7, 2003, at 4:30 P.M., Angie Elizabeth Moser of Kannapolis, N.C., died at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. following a long illness. For more than a year she had lived at the assisted living center at Clemmons Village. Angie, born on April 18, 1916, in Chesterfield County, S.C., was the only daughter and the youngest of the four children of Javie Parker and Bessie Sellers Allen. Some ten years after her father's death in 1916, Angie's mother married Doss Tucker. Angie had two brothers from that marriage. Only one of Angie's five brothers, Franklin Tucker, of Kannapolis, N.C., survives. In August 1937, Angie married Walter Glenn Moser of Union County, N.C., who died in 1973. Angie is survived by her daughter, Joyce Anne Moser, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and two sons and their spouses: Harold D. and Carolyn French Moser of Knoxville, TN, and Kenneth A. and Mary Nan Sweeney Moser of Winston-Salem; by seven grandchildren: Andrew Paul and Keri Downing Moser of Sewanee, TN, Anna Elizabeth Moser and Michael O'Hara III, of Flagstaff, AZ, Joseph A. Williams of Raleigh, NC, Jennifer Williams Gaeto of San Francisco, CA, Kelly Frances Moser of Alexandria, VA, Ashley Elizabeth and Dr. Joseph Veneziano of Scarsdale, NY, and John Kenneth Moser of Winston-Salem; and by one great grandson, Bryce Amos Moser of Sewanee, TN. Angie's life was one of selfless service to others and to her God. A smile always graced her face and love flowed from her heart. She devoted her life to her family and to nurturing and encouraging the education of her children and grandchildren. Lady's Funeral Home in Kannapolis is in charge of the burial arrangements. A private family burial service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park on Monday, November 10, 2003. A memorial service will be conducted by the Reverend Mary Ann Ramsey Bush of Knollwood Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC for family and friends at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 10, 2003. The family will greet friends after the memorial service. Angie was the best of friends and the greatest of mothers and grandmothers. She will be missed dearly. May she forever rest in peace. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 1100-C South Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or the charity of the Donor's choice. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the caring people who participated in Angie's care, especially Dr. Philip Ray Morrow and Dr. Elizabeth Deterding of Wake Forest University Physicians, the nursing staff on 7 Reynolds and the staff of The Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
