Cloyd Hugh Godfrey III Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Cloyd Hugh Godfrey, III, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A funeral service is scheduled for 5:00 pm Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bobby Tallent will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:45 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mr. Godfrey was born April 19, 1942 in Charlotte. He was a son of the late Cloyd Hugh Godfrey, II and Edelweiss Jones Godfrey. He was a long haul truck driver for many years. He attended Gethsemane Baptist Church in Concord. He was an avid NASCAR fan especially his favorite driver, Chase Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Mary Schlegel and Betty Lou Johnson. Mr. Godfrey is survived by his wife, Donna Weaver Godfrey; three sons, Cloyd Godfrey, IV of Sherrills Ford, Brian Godfrey of Midland and Chris Godfrey of Harrisburg; three step-children, Melinda Page and Teresa Morgan, both of Concord and Robert Dorton of China Grove; sister, Dorothy Ann Bolyard of West Virginia; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
