Franziska Irene Eck Hartley

Mrs. Franziska Irene Eck Hartley, 72, of 204 Tanglewood Drive, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at her residence. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2002, at St. James Catholic Church in Concord. Rev. James Geiger will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 PM Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. A prayer service will follow the visitation at 8:00 PM. Mrs. Hartley was born December 13, 1929, in Plienfeld, Germany. She was a daughter of the late Johann Eck and the Theodora Teresa Gary Eck. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hansel Eck. Mrs. Hartley is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dwight B. Hartley; a daughter, Carmen Charlton; four sons, Herbert Hartley and his wife, Diane, of Albemarle, Randy Hartley and his wife, Kay, of China Grove, Mark Hartley and his wife, Debbie, of Salisbury, Blan Hartley and his wife, Laura, of Indian Trail; two sisters, Marianne Hegenauer and her husband, Erdman, Leisel Loser and her husband, Karl, all of Germany; four brothers, Rudolph Eck, Bert Eck and his wife, Austrid, Franz Eck and his wife, Nanne, and Eddie Eck, all of Germany; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
