Jackie Thomas Henry, Sr.

Mr. Jackie Thomas Henry, Sr., 70, of 740 Fisher Street, Concord, died Saturday, September 28, 2002 at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, September 30, 2002, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James Pauley will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the DAV Chapter 27 of Concord. The family will receive friends from 11 to 1:00 PM Monday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mr. Henry was born August 12, 1932, in Cherokee County, NC. He was a son of the late Fred Abraham Henry and Mary Hawkins Henry. He retired from the US Army after 24 years of service and was also a retired commercial carpenter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Rufus, Walter, Kimsey and William Henry. Mr. Henry is survived by his wife, Judy Ruth Holloway Henry; two daughters, Mary Fitzsimmons of Woodbury, GA and Michelle Elliott of Barrington, NH; two sons, Jackie Thomas Henry, Jr. and Ted Henry, both of Concord; one step-son, John Shumake of Concord; four sisters, Betty Martin and Jane Wingler, both of Kannapolis, Mary Ludwick and Marcella Allen, both of Concord; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
