Jan Lookabill Gore

Mrs. Jan Lookabill Gore, 66, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Mrs. Gore was born October 11, 1956 in Salisbury. She was a daughter of the late Melvin Lookabill and Georgia Barger Lookabill. Jan retired from Rowan Salisbury School System where she taught music for 39 years, with majority of her years at South Rowan High School as Choral Director. Throughout her teaching career, Jan touched the lives of tens of thousands of students. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she also served as Music Director and Organist for 35 years.

Jan is survived by her husband, David Gore; son, Michael Gore and wife Lauren of Greer, SC; and her sister, Myra Hiatt and husband Joel of Salisbury.

A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, February 5, 2023, in the Fellowship Hall at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Candice Carter and Rev. David Franks will officiate.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 3 to 3:45 pm Sunday in the Breezeway at Trinity Lutheran Church.
