Paul Sylvester Burgess

March 6, 1939 - December 4, 2021

Mr. Paul Sylvester "Red" Burgess, 82, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at his home in Kannapolis. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Misenheimer Family Cemetery in Concord. Pastor Mike Roper will officiate. Interment will follow. The family will greet friends following the service. Mr. Burgess was born March 6, 1939 in Concord. He was a son of the late Paul Baxter Burgess and Elizabeth Jane "Lib" Taylor Burgess. Paul was self employed as an electronic technician. He enjoyed watching westerns, riding motorcycles, traveling, and country music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Marie Burgess; three brothers, George Baxter Burgess, Larry Donald Burgess, and Allan Duncan Burgess; and a sister, Carolyn Twitty. Mr. Burgess is survived by three daughters, Gina B. Hagan of Kannapolis, Mary E. Burgess Perez and Dorothy Jamison, both of Concord; son, Paul Baxter Burgess, II of Rockwell; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Burgess of Kannapolis and Grace Marie Burgess of Rockwell; brother, Levi Burgess, Sr. of Rockwell; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials to help ease the burden of their sudden loss may be sent to Lady's Funeral Home & Crematory, 268 N. Cannon Boulevard, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
