Mrs. Sylvia "Sib" Honeycutt Blackwelder

March 7, 1933 - August 20, 2021

Mrs. Sylvia "Sib" Honeycutt Blackwelder, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, at her home in Concord surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Center United Methodist Church. Rev. Tony Allen and Rev. Don Newman will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Monday at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:45 pm Sunday prior to the service. Mrs. Blackwelder was born March 7, 1933 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Eli Ingram Honeycutt and Ada Bell Ferris Honeycutt. She was an active member of Center United Methodist Church and also a member of the E.C.A for 62 years. She opened her home, her heart and her arms to anyone who needed her love. Sib enjoyed decorating the church for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Blackwelder; granddaughter, Jennifer Blackwelder; and two sisters, Elizabeth "Lib" Faggart and Rachel Kluttz. Mrs. Blackwelder is survived by son, Byron Blackwelder and Gerri Kepley of Concord; daughter, Beth Cruse of Concord; two sisters, Margaret Pritchard of Concord and Rebekah "Becky" Fine of Denton; three grandchildren, Jamie Blackwelder and wife Jamie, Trey Cruse and wife Kelly and Trevor Cruse and wife Bethany; four great grandchildren, Addison Blackwelder, Caleb Blackwelder, Lana Cruse and Trevor Eli Cruse, Jr. Memorials may be sent to Center United Methodist Church, 1119 Union Street South, Concord, NC 28025 or to Saint Jude Children's Hospital, 2101 Rexford Road #165W, Charlotte, NC 28211.
