Vickie Lane Smallwood

Miss Vickie Lane Smallwood, 58, of Hypoluxo, Florida, and formerly of Kannapolis, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida. Born January 1, 1948, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Ruby Jo Towell Ervin and John Smallwood. She was the assistant treasurer for the Lake Worth Drainage District in Delray Beach, Florida. Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel The Rev. Sarah Weaver will officiate. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 31, 2006, at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the family home, 532 Kiser Avenue, Kannapolis. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ervin; and her step-father, Robert Lee "Bob" Ervin. Survivors include a sister, Sherry Goforth and husband, John, of Kannapolis; dear friend, Al Swain of Hypoluxo, Fla.; two aunts, Dee Hamm of Apex and Helen Peck of Hollywood, Fla.; and four cousins, Bo Bundy of Texas, Mike Norvell of Leesburg, Fla., Joan Ottaway of Apex and Heidi Peck of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
