Wade David Storey

Mr. Wade David Storey, 82, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, in Cornelius.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Joe Harding will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Storey was born December 18, 1935 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late William Howard Story and Velma Mae Bolick Story. He was a very active member of Bethel Wesleyan Church. In his earlier years, he worked for Cannon Mills. He later worked for James Ornamental Iron in Monroe and later worked again for and would retire from Cannon Mills. He was a lifetime member of Iron Workers #413 Union. Wade loved welding and riding motorcycles and was very outgoing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Griffin; and three brothers, Brice Storey, Leonard Storey and Russell Storey.

Mr. Storey is survived by four daughters, Pamela Higgins and husband Bill of Burgaw, NC, Judy Sobo and husband Phil of Cornelius, Benita Ballard and husband Mark of Salisbury and Jennie Storey-Martin and husband Mickey of Effingham, SC; two sisters, Gail Wilhelm and Louise Parrish and husband Jim, all of Kannapolis; and a brother, C.V. Storey of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren, John Hoilman, Angela Rivenbark, Tina Galloway, Chad Ballard, Jared Sobo, Cody Martin and Tabitha Martin; and eight great grandchildren, Charleigh Rivenbark, Cody Rivenbark, Hunter Hastings, Jakob Galloway, Braylen Galloway, Haley (Camdyn) Ballard, Skylar Ballard and Corbin Ballard.
