Alice Nell Bost

December 29, 1929 — December 2, 2015

Mrs. Alice Nell “Granny” Karriker Bost, 85, entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

A funeral service is scheduled for 3:30 pm Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Concordia Lutheran Church. Rev. Ken Reed and Rev. Larry Bost will officiate. Interment will follow at Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm Sunday at Concordia Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Bost was born December 29, 1929 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Erwin A. Karriker and Margaret Chambers Karriker. She worked at Cannon Mills, and later retired from Fiber Industries in 1995. She was a life-long member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Mrs. Bost loved to work in her memorial flower garden, crochet, cook, and collect antiques.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hoyle Bost; son, Presley Ray Bost; two brothers, Jackson Perry Karriker and Paul B. Karriker; infant sister, Hazel Karriker; granddaughter, Crystal Cook; and great-grandson, Zachary Alan Utley.

Mrs. Bost is survived by daughter, Zinda Bost Nesbitt and husband Ivan of Mooresville; son, Bo Bost and wife, Sheila of Mooresville; two brothers, Jim Karriker of Mooresville, and Jerry Karriker of Gastonia; five sisters, Ann McNeely of China Grove, Mary Ruth Owens and husband Jack of Mooresville, Judy Curlee and husband Bob of Kannapolis, Carolyn Timms and Rachel Kay Davis, both of Concord; five grandchildren, Angie Kiser, Micky Lynn Bost and wife Kelly, Johnny Stirewalt and wife Lisa, Tina Utley and boyfriend Todd Overcash, and Marty Bost and wife Jessica; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for all their loving support during this time, and especially the following staff personell: Amy, Christa, and Kristi.
