Alice Irene Morgan

Mrs. Alice Irene Murphy Morgan , 89, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013, at her home.

A memorial service is will be held at 1:00 Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jody Wetta will officiate.

Mrs. Moore was born on July 8, 1923 in Rockingham. She was a daughter of the late Peter Murphy and Mime Robson Murphy. She retired as a seamstress. Mrs. Moore enjoyed fishing as long as she was able. Alice also liked to sew and work crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Douglas Morgan, Steve Morgan and Sue Blake; five sisters, Blondie Coleman, Helen Moss, Willie Black, Mary Lee Hinson and Elsie Brown; and nine brothers, Howard, Pete, Claude, David, Billy, Floyd, Vance and Jessie Murphy and Carl Luther.

Mrs. Moore is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Huffstickler of Kannapolis, Jan Allman of Concord and Lynn Morgan of Los Lunas, NM; two sons, Dale Carpenter of Marshville and Arnold Morgan of Millingport; twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and ten great great grandchilden.
