Allan Reece Collins

Allan Reece Collins, Sr., 84, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Tucker Hospice House.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Friday, January 23, 2015, at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Collins was born on November 26, 1930 in Cabarrus County. He was the son of the late Carlton Collins and Beatrice Reece Collins. Mr. Collins served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a carpenter at Cannon Mills.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryne Jordan Collins.

Mr. Collins is survived by his daughter, Kathy Franklin of Kannapolis; son, Allan Reece Collins, Jr. of Salisbury; five grandchildren, Brandon, Laurie, Amanda, Davina and Stephen; and three great grandchildren.
