Alma Lucille Ellenburg (Hall)

Alma Hall Ellenburg, 96, completed her earthly journey on April 30, 2015 at Best of Care in Kannapolis.

She was born March 25, 1919 in Salisbury, NC to William Thomas and Floride Hall. She was the oldest girl of 12 children, and thus learned homemaking at a young age. She married J.W. Ellenburg when both were 19 and raised three children in Spencer, NC. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Spencer for over 60 years and was noted as a wonderful cook, seamstress, and hostess.

She leaves three children: Judy Davison of Costa Mesa, California, Eric Ellenburg of Raleigh, and Jerry Ellenburg and wife, Ellen Hancock of Davidson; two grandchildren, Jessi and Rick; and one great grandchild, Willa.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband, five brothers, and two sisters. Surviving siblings are George Hall of Mississippi, Ronald Hall of Selma, NC, Margie Crowell and Jean Peeler of Salisbury.

A graveside service will be held at Rowan Memorial Park at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 3, 2015 followed by a reception at North Main Baptist Church.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church of your choice.
