Mrs. Alma Bragg Wood, 91, a resident of Trinity Oaks Lutheran Home in Salisbury, and formerly of Brantley Road in Kannapolis, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at the Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. R. J. Hammond will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of her daughter, Polly Fincher, 1807 Brantley Road, Kannapolis. Born January 6, 1914, in Elbert County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Joe B. Bragg and Arizona Bagwell Bragg. She was a member of Kannapolis Church of God and retired several years ago from the Sewing Room of Cannon Mills, Plant One, following 46 years of employment. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Ernest Wood, who died January 30, 1969; a grandson, Danny Thomas Fincher, who recently died on December 14, 2005; great-grandson, Daniel James Fincher; a sister, Annie Jewell Bragg; five brothers, Horace, Dupree, Odell, Joe, and twin brother, Alvin Aaron Bragg. Survivors include her daughter, Polly Maxwell Fincher and husband, John, of Kannapolis, four grandchildren, Rebecca Anne Cranford, Beverly Jo Hammond, John A. Fincher, Jr. and wife, Betty, and Richard David Fincher; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Joyceline Villasana and the staff of the Lutheran Home, for the kindness shown to them and Mrs. Wood.
