Andrew Ronald Dewitt

Mr. Andrew "Andy" Ronald DeWitt, 65, passed away June 1, 2012 at his residence in Concord.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeff Upright will officiate. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends 2 to 2:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service.

Mr. DeWitt was born on April 17, 1947 in Maryland. He was the son of the late Otis Elwood DeWitt and Hannah Madeline Kyc DeWitt. Mr. DeWitt worked as an engineer at Phillip Morris, Inc. for many years. Andy was a very intelligent man. He was an Ivy League scholar at Penn State University. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and watching TV. He loved his dog, Bandit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Upright DeWitt.

Mr. DeWitt is survived by daughters, Heather Lynne DeWitt of Loris, SC and Erin Shea DeWitt of New Port News, VA; son, Sean Paul DeWitt and wife Shannon of Smithfield, VA; former wife, Deborah Paul of Loris, SC and five grandchildren.
