Andrew Herbert Price, Sr.

Mr. Andrew Herbert Price, Sr., 82, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, May 13, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joey Morrison and Rev. Ed Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Military graveside rites will be rendered by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home. Mr. Price was born April 29, 1929 in Union County, NC. He was a son of the late Andrew Henry Price and Essie Rushing Price. He worked as a trailer mechanic retiring from Johnson Motor Lines. Mr. Price was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He retired from the US Army Reserve. Mr. Price was a member of Southside Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Tucker and a brother, Bill Price. Mr. Price is survived by his wife of 58 years Hazel Sellers Price; daughter, Kathy P. Joplin of Kannapolis; son, Andrew H. Price Jr. of Fl; four sisters, Katherine Kilpatrick of Hickory, Shirley Furr of Stone Mountain, GA, Judy Ballard of Kannapolis and Johni Dagenhardt of Fort Mill, SC; four grandchildren, Donnie Atwell, Heather Williams, Drew Connelly and Andrea Price and six great grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be made to Southside Baptist Church, 561 Union Cemetery Church Road SW, Concord, NC 28027.
