Angelo Vasilios Markantonakis

December 20, 1998 — December 24, 2024

With heavy hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Angelo Vasilios Markantonakis, who left this world on Christmas Eve, just four days after celebrating his 26th birthday. Though his time with us was far too short, Angelo’s life was brimming with love, laughter, and the joy he brought to everyone he knew.

Angelo had an undeniable charm from a young age, whether it was expertly negotiating his way out of classwork, household chores, or flashing a grin to escape trouble. At home, he cherished simple, heartfelt moments: In-depth conversations with his father, Angelo Markantonakis (Bridget), on family and values while watching football, and their annual football trips. Decorating gingerbread houses with his mother Susan Jones (Buddy Brewer) and hearing her unwavering support at his games, and advising his younger brother, Dominic Markantonakis, on the finer points of life.

A gifted athlete, Angelo’s talents on the football and lacrosse fields were admired, but it was his humor and ability to light up a room that truly defined him. His greatest pride, however, was becoming a father to his beloved son, Adonis Markantonakis. The love Angelo shared with Adonis and his mother, Arianna Black, was the cornerstone of his life.

Angelo is now reunited with his Papou Vasilios and Yaya Barbara Markantonakis, his Grandfather Larry Jones, and his Uncles Chuck Laws and Matthew Magrone.

He is survived by his loving family: his grandmother Debra Jones; his aunts and uncles Allen Jones, Carlita Adamy, Samantha and Christopher Jacobson, Andrea Laws, Lucille Laws and Christina Stasko; and a multitude of cousins who were his partners in laughter and adventure.

Please join us as we celebrate Angelo’s life and the incredible memories he left us with. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Lady's Funeral Home.

Angelo may no longer walk among us, but his warmth, humor, and love will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew him.
