Anita Roseanne "Anne" Sutton, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at TerraBella Assisted Living in Salisbury.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 pm Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Lee Gray will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:15 pm prior to the service.
Anne was born September 21, 1953 at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital in Concord. She was a daughter of the late Carey and Rosa Belle Sutton. She grew up attending Blackwelder Park Baptist Church in Kannapolis. After graduation from South Rowan High School, she attended Appalachian State University in Boone and Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. After completing her studies, Anne was a paralegal working over 40 years for Attorney Jack MacNeill in Charlotte where she resided.
Anne was a dedicated member of St. John Baptist Church for nearly 50 years. There, she used her gift of music and arts. She enjoyed teaching children choirs and various roles in theater productions. She was capable of directing plays but putting on a costume and playing a role brought her much enjoyment. She always had a great sense of humor and enjoyed having fun with others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Sue and Cherry Sutton; two brothers, Thomas "Tom" and Steve Sutton.
Anne is survived by her sister-in law, Mary Jo Sutton of Virginia; niece, Elizabeth "Betsy" Sutton and husband Mark LaChance and their daughters Maddie and Elle LaChance of New Jersey; nephew, Kevin Sutton and wife Traci of Virginia. She is also survived by her cousins and close friends.
Memorials may be sent to St. John Baptist Church, 300 Hawthorn Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204 or the charity of ones choice.
