Anna Gregory Compton

Mrs. Anna Gregory Compton, 87, of 2425 Winfield Street, Kannapolis, NC died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at St. Andrew's Living Center in Concord, NC after eighteen months of declining health and one month of serious illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Jernigan will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. Compton was born December 18, 1915 in Statesville, NC. She was a daughter of the late Silas and Dessie Pratt Gregory. She was retired from the washcloth department of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis. She was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Compton, and her son, Robert Lee "Bobby" Compton, Jr. Mrs. Compton is survived by two daughters, Mary C. Medlin of Kannapolis and Margaret C. Seagraves of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Margaret Moore of Camillus, NY; five grandchildren, Hal Seagraves, Jr., Jodie Dickey, Shannon Miskol, Tonya Hite and Tommy Johnston, Jr.; and five great grandchildren.
