Anna Lou Rhodes

Mrs. Anna Lou Grogan Rhodes, 97, formerly of Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Big Elm Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 5, 2012 at Genesis Baptist Church. Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm, Friday, prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Rhodes was born on January 20, 1915 in Murphy. She was the daughter of the late William Jackson Grogan and Molly Ann McClellan Grogan. She retired from the wash cloth department of Cannon Mills. Mrs. Rhodes was the oldest member of Genesis Baptist Church. She loved her church, her pastor and her church family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ben Allen, Ira Davis and Nathaniel Rhodes; sons, Charles Robert Allen and Hillard "Buck� Davis.

Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her daughters, Janelle Lee of Crescent City, CA, Marie Davis Christy of Kannapolis and Lucille Davis Yancey and husband Joe of Drexel; sons, James Nathan Rhodes and wife Sue of York, SC, David Wayne Rhodes and wife Brenda of China Grove and Buddy Lee Rhodes and wife Bernice of Boonville; sister, Molly Cart of Akron, OH; twenty grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
