Mrs. Annie Lee Davis Mills, 98, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021, at her home in Davidson County.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Churchland Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Wilkes will officiate. Interment will be at Salisbury National Cemetery with her husband at a later date.
Mrs. Mills was born September 21, 1922 in Davidson County. She was a daughter of the late William Eccles Davis and Alma Foster Davis. She and her family lived in the Winecoff Community in Concord for many years. In her later years they moved back to the rural area of Davidson County where she grew up. She was a member of Churchland Baptist Church and a former member of McGill Baptist Church. She also was with the Women's Auxiliary of the Winecoff Volunteer Fire Department.
Ann had a lifetime passion for plants and flowers. During her years, she along with her husband Roy, operated greenhouses and retail businesses all related to her love of flowers. She was a very caring person who was always looking for ways to help her family, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Douglas Mills; two sisters, Alma June Davis and Julia Davis Barnhill; and one daughter, Alice Mills White.
Mrs. Mills is survived by son, Doug Mills and wife Jeanette of Lexington; daughter, Audree Mills Blaikie and husband William of Advance; three grandchildren, Michael Grey, Stephanie Moore, and Daniel Mills; 10 great grandchildren, Aiden Grey, Zoe Grey, Maya Grey, Kellan Grey, Margaret Mills, Jacob Mills, Eli Grey, Julia Moore, William Moore, and Benjamin Moore.
