Annie Mae Mcclure Guthrie

Mrs. Annie Mae McClure Guthrie, 73, died Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Five Oaks Manor in Kannapolis. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, February 3, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Rodney Lyles will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. Guthrie was born December 12, 1933 in Harrisburg. She was a daughter of the late John Allen McClure and Elizabeth Parks McClure. She retired from the Cabarrus County School System where she worked as a teacher in the Kid Plus Program. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Concord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Louis Guthrie, in 1983; one sister, Florence Nelums; and five brothers, Sylvester McClure, Ivan McClure, John McClure, Allen McClure and Adell McClure. Mrs. Guthrie is survived by four daughters, Johnie M. Guthrie of Davidson, Deborah Knoell and husband, Peter, of Charlotte, Rebecca Patterson/Weaver (David) of Concord, Sherry G. Puryear and husband, Russell, of Atlanta, GA; four sons, John L. Guthrie, Jr. and wife, Monzella, of Pflugerville, TX, Wayne O. Guthrie and wife, Debbie, of Hickory, Wade O. Guthrie (Regina) of Albemarle, Lorne P. Guthrie of Davidson; daughter-in-law, Sandra Guthrie of Davidson; son-in-law, Timothy Patterson of Kannapolis; spiritual daughter, Annie Dagone of Concord; three sisters, Olla Belle Stafford, Dorothy McClure and Arizona Dean and husband, Freddie, all of Charlotte; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincerest thank to the staff of Five Oaks Manor, the staff and care partners of NorthEast Medical Center, and the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for all of the love and excellent care that was given to Annie.
