Arrie Etta Laney

Mrs. Arrie Etta Johnson Laney, 94, formerly of East 10th Street, Kannapolis, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Five Oaks Manor.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Steven Page and Bishop Willis Ball will officiate. Interment will be at 11:00 am, Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints Cemetery in North Wilkesboro.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6:00 pm, Thursday, prior to the service at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Laney was born on October 27, 1918 in Wilkes County. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Johnson and Mary Ester Ball Johnson. Mrs. Laney retired as a hemmer in the sewing room at Plant 1 of Cannon Mills after 42 years of service. She was a loving mother and very faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon)..

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Froadus Laney in 1972; sister, Lorene Childers; and two brothers, Claude Wilson Johnson and Ray Jarvis Johnson.

Mrs. Laney is survived by her daughter, Vicki Marsden-Lynch and husband John of London, England; son Dane DeMar Laney and wife Julie of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Kelly Dean Lefler and Kristin Michelle Briggs.
