Arthur Leon Overcash

Mr. Arthur Leon Overcash, 93, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at his residence.

A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Harvest Community Church. Rev. Jeff Burris will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:45 pm Sunday at Harvest Community Church.

Mr. Overcash was born October 22, 1922 in Cabarrus County. He was the son of the late Arthur Honor Overcash and Ruth Shinn Overcash. He worked as an Animal Control Officer for Cabarrus County.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Mae Brown Overcash; son, David R. Brown; and two sisters, Faynell Laney and Helen Russell.

Mr. Overcash is survived by son, Landrel W. Brown and wife Barbara of Charlotte; two sisters, Catherine Helms of Kannapolis and Peggy Puckett of Ellijay, GA; three grandsons, Landrel Tyran “Ty” Brown of Kannapolis, Loren Heath Brown, and Michael Brown; and four great-grandchildren.
