Ashley Nathaniel Grace

Ashley Nathaniel Grace, 33, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Tucker Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 1260 N. College Street, Mt. Pleasant, NC. Rev. Bruce Gwyn will officiate. Interment will be at 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Williams Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Jasper, AL.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 pm Saturday prior to the service at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

Ashley was born on June 20, 1980 in Birmingham, AL. He was a son of Danny Caroll Grace and his wife Jane and Andrea Michelle Dozier and her husband Buddy, all of Jasper, AL. He was a maintenance technician for the Charlotte based Billy Graham Evangelical Association. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Ashley was an avid rider of mountain bikes and loved camping. He enjoyed mud runs, having ran in many races and was a Crimson Tide fan.

Ashley was preceded in death by a beloved grandmother, Christene “Nanny” Grace.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Wendy Michelle Grace; daughter, Trista Christene Grace of Navarre Beach, FL; son, Braxton Nathaniel Grace of Concord; three step-children, London McDaniel of Mt. Pleasant, Jackson Moon and Coleman Moon, both of Concord; two brothers, Wes Grace and Bradley Kilgore, both of Jasper, AL; step-brother, Jacob Gay and wife Lindsey of Jasper, AL; faithful canine “kids”, Pippi and Jeb; and by a host of relatives and friends.

The family would like to especially thank Rev. Bruce Gwyn, Gary Kennedy, all of his church “Mommas” and every church member that helped during his journey. They would like to give a special thank you to the medical staff of Levine Cancer Center in Charlotte, especially Dr. Asim Amin, Denise Hogan, Dr. Brian Walther and Dr. Terry Sarantou.
