Audrey Hall Shipwash

Mrs. Audrey Hall Shipwash, 88, of East Ridge Avenue, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 25, 2011, at her residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, March 28, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Billy Honeycutt will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Monday prior to the service. Mrs. Shipwash was born September 12, 1922 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Harvey Lee Hall and Ione Sowers Hall. She was a 1941 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School. She retired from Cannon Mills Plant 6 where she worked as a winder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, George Leverette Hall in 1967 and Donald Ray Shipwash in1997. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers and two grandchildren, Jean-Paul and Heaven Christine. Mrs. Shipwash is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hall Polk of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Gina Polk, Mark Polk, David Polk, Rickey Purser, and Kathryn P. Overcash; and eight great grandchildren, Haley Overcash, Ashley Overcash, Preston Overcash, Brianna Huerta, David Huerta, Christopher Castillo, Destiny Purser, and Brian Purser.
