Ava Mcghee Williams

Mrs. Ava McGhee Williams, 101, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, March 31, 2017, at Grace Covenant Church. Rev. Glynn Weatherby, II will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Friday at Grace Covenant Church.

Mrs. Williams was born May 22, 1915 in Wendell, NC. She was the daughter of the late Charlie McGhee and Helen Hocutt McGhee. She retired from Cannon Mills and was a member Grace Covenant Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Foster Williams; two sisters, Virginia Cameron and Myrtle Faulker; and a brother, Paige McGhee.

Mrs. Williams is survived by daughter, Rachel Gabriel and husband Don of Greensboro; two sons, Ronnie Williams and wife Crystal of Kannapolis and Dewey Ray Williams and wife Charlotte of Lake Jackson, TX; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
