Barbara Sue Black

Ms. Barbara Sue Black, 73, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor David Jacobs will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Ms. Black was born October 27, 1943 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Graham Robinson Black and Martha Rebecca Speight Black. She worked for Brown Mill and later retired from Cannon Mills Plant 4 in Kannapolis. She loved playing cards and going out with her friends of Camilla Hills.

Ms. Black is survived by her daughter, Janet Beaver and husband Jerry of Kannapolis; son, Lathan Barnett, III of Alaska; three sisters, Joan B. Stancil, Judy B. Nash and husband, Vince, and Carol B. Smith, all of Concord; brother, Ronnie Black and wife Jan of Oakboro; and three grandchildren, Jamie Beaver, Shelby Beaver and Lathan Barnett, IV.
