Barbara Ellen Burgess

Mrs. Barbara Ellen Clay Burgess, 62, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Mike Roper will officiate. Interment will follow at Misenheimer Family Cemetery in Concord.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 am - 10:45 am Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burgess was born October 23, 1953 in Cabarrus County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Kadonald Clay and Grace Ellen Stephens Clay. She was of the Baptist faith. Barbara enjoyed going to yard sales and collecting antiques. She enjoyed all children, especially her grandchildren. Barbara always liked cooking for her family.

Mrs. Burgess is survived by her husband of 30 years Levi Burgess, Sr.; daughter, Wendy Christopher of Clover, SC; son, Levi Burgess, Jr. of Rockwell; brothers, Donald Craven Clay of Wingate and Jackie Lynn Clay of Waxhaw; sister, Tammy Michelle Clay of Clover, SC; granddaughter, Krista Carter; grandson, Dustin Carter; and three great-grandchildren.
