Barbara Denise Cook

Mrs. Barbara Denise Lewis "Barbie" Cook, 53, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Carolinas Healthcare System - NorthEast in Concord.

A memorial service is scheduled for 6:30 pm Friday, April 29, 2016, at First Wesleyan Church. Rev. Scott Atkins will officiate.

The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

Mrs. Cook was born February 25, 1963 in Cabarrus County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Earl Dean Lewis and Barbara Smith Lewis. She worked as a housekeeper. Mrs. Cook was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School in the class of 1981. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Deanita Lewis.

Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband of 31 years Timothy Cook; daughter, Jessica Cook and fiancé Jeremy Hamilton of Kannapolis; two sons, Jeremy Cook and wife Cody of Landis, and Justin Cook and fiancée Tiffani Leigh of Kannapolis; two brothers, Michael Lewis of AZ and Patrick Lewis of Davidson; granddaughter, McKenna Cook; grandson, Dylan Cook; mother in-law, Nancy Brown and father in-law Jerry, both of Landis; and step-mother, Janice Lewis of TN.
