Barbara "Bobbie" Montooth, 76, a resident of the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in Morganton, and formerly of Charlotte, died at the center, Friday, December 23, 2005. A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove. The Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home, 268 N. Cannon Blvd, Kannapolis, followed by a procession to the cemetery. Born February 20, 1929, in Charlotte, she was a loving daughter of Frank L. Montooth and Velna McCollum Montooth of Concord. "Bobbie", as she was affectionately known, is survived by a sister, Faye M. Smith of Charlotte; one brother, F. L. Montooth of Fayetteville; three nieces; peers and loving staff at the Riddle Center; and special friend, Dawn P. Crawford of Lenoir. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at the Covenant Chapel at the Riddle Center in Morganton.
