Barbara Joann Steen

Mrs. Barbara Joann Blaine Steen, 82, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016, at her residence.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, August 13, 2016, at The Amity House at Lady's Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends following the service Saturday at The Amity House.

Mrs. Steen was born July 31, 1934 in Sunbury, PA. She was raised by Kenneth and Ruth Tine of Concord. She graduated from Concord High School and attended Flora MacDonald College. During her career, she worked administratively for University North Carolina Charlotte, Collins and Aikman, and Grand Stand General Hospital. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Kannapolis. Mrs. Steen celebrated 60 years of marriage to her devoted husband on March 10, 2016.

Mrs. Steen is survived by her husband, Charles Steen; sons, Kenneth Steen and wife Nancy of Marietta, GA, and Scott Steen and wife Marne of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister-in-law, Doris Mangum; two grandchildren, Kenneth Burns Steen, Jr. and Charles Lee Steen; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
