Baxter Warden Helms

Mr. Baxter Warden Helms, Jr., 73, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, September 24, 2012 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bud Walck will officiate. Internment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove with military graveside rites rendered by the Rowan Veterans Honor Council.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:45 am, Monday at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service.

Mr. Baxter was born on January 31, 1939 in Richmond County. He was the son of the late Baxter W. Helms, Sr. and Thelma Frye Helms. He served in US Air Force.

Mr. Baxter is survived by his wife, Grace Prevette Helms; daughter, Patricia Oddie of Salisbury; sons, Phillip Helms and wife Nancy of China Grove and Kenneth Helms and wife Charlotte of New London; sisters, Betty Hamilton and husband Harold of Winston-Salem and Jewell Cline of Salisbury; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
