Beatrice Mauldin Davis

July 18, 1911 — October 25, 2002

Mrs. Beatrice "Bea" Mauldin Davis, 91, of Kannapolis, passed peacefully Friday, October 25, 2002, at Morningside Assisted Living in Concord, where she had been a resident for the past nine months. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 PM Sunday, October 27, 2002, at First Baptist Church. Dr. Tom Cabaniss will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 PM Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Dale and Jane Miller, 602 Pearl Avenue, Kannapolis. Mrs. Davis was born July 18, 1911 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Jim and Fannie Biles Mauldin. She was the owner of Virginia's Inc., a women's clothiers in downtown Cannon Village since 1942. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar B. Davis; a son, Edgar C. Davis, Sr.; three brothers, Glen Mauldin of Greenwood, SC, Monroe Mauldin of Kannapolis, and Robert Mauldin of Houston, TX; and a grandson, Edgar C. Davis, Jr. Mrs. Davis is survived by two sisters, Lorene "Pug" Coggins and Doris Plowman, both of Kannapolis; brother, Bill Mauldin of Concord; four grandchildren, Deborah Ketchum of Charlotte, Melanie Keziah and Robert Davis, both of Kannapolis and Michael Davis of Winston Salem; six great grandchildren, Deana Keziah, Christopher Keziah, Brian and Brittany Davis, all of Kannapolis, Tricia Tuttle of London, England, and Matthew Ketchum of Charlotte. Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church, "Mini Bus Fund", 101 N. Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
