Mr. Bennie William Rainwater, Jr., 78, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Andrea Curtis will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Rainwater was born September 9, 1946 in Rowan County. He was a son of the late Bennie William Rainwater, Sr. and Ida Wiggins Rainwater. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Landis. Mr. Rainwater worked as a maintenance technician at the former Norandal USA, now Granges. He enjoyed driving his golf cart around Landis with his faithful dog, Bailey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Suzanne Bostian Rainwater; daughter, Marla Ann Thompson; and son, Brian Todd "Soup" Campbell.
Mr. Rainwater is survived by son, Marc L. Campbell (Andrea) of Dahlonega, GA; daughter-in-law, LuAnn Campbell of Landis; sister, Barbara R. Lentz of China Grove; three grandchildren, Jamie Dale Thompson, Damian Chance Campbell, and Alyssa Brianne Campbell; several nieces and nephews; and honorary daughter, Mystyckle Grossman of Lexington.
