Bernard Melton Wright

Mr. Bernard Melton Wright, 81, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Genesis Baptist Church. Rev. Gene Edwards and Rev. Rex Ware will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Wright was born March 28, 1941 in Ruby, SC. He was a son of the late Will Wright and Eva Melton Wright. He was a member of Genesis Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he was an electrician for Cannon Mills. He retired as an owner and operator of his own well drilling business.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Renea Wilhelm Wright and second wife, Nancy Wright; two grandchildren, Ryan and Kenny Wright; and brother, Clyde Wright; two step-children, Dana Burris and Donald Meece.

Mr. Wright is survived by four sons, Jodie Wright of Kannapolis, Scott Wright and wife Crystal of Kannapolis, Kenny Wright and wife Robin of China Grove and Eric Wright of China Grove; one step-child, Joseph Meece and wife Valerie; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
