Betty Cody Cuevas

Mrs. Betty Cody Cuevas, 81, of China Grove died on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at her residence. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at 4:00 pm at Bethel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Joe Harding, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 pm Sunday at the church, prior to the service. She was born on February 5, 1929 in Tuscumbia, Alabama, a daughter of the late Robert Cody and Frances Kany Cody. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Cuevas and a brother Robert Cody, Jr. Mrs. Cuevas was a homemaker. Survivors include one daughter, Elaine Kuehl (Al) of Rockwell. Three sons, Gary Cuevas (Tina) and Larry Cuevas (Mary Ellen), all of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rick Cuevas (Jane)of Willow Spring, NC. Three sisters, Christine Hessler (Nelson) of Pennsylvania; Ruth Leonard (David) of Vestal, NY; Vivian Roosa (Charles), and a sister-in-law, Theresa Cody, all of New York. Six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Burial will be in New York and the family requests that no flowers be sent and memorials directed to her church, Bethel Wesleyan Church, 4036 Old Salisbury-Concord Road Kannapolis, NC 28083.
