Betty Jean Godwin

Mrs. Betty Jean Wetherington Godwin, 75, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A graveside will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Denver, NC. Rev. Jeff Burris will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Tuesday at Lady’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Godwin was born May 1, 1940 in Lowndes County. She was the daughter of the late Will Wetherington and Estelle Knox Wetherington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Godwin, son in law, Robert Davis, and grandson, Jeremy Austin.

Mrs. Godwin is survived by her three daughters, Jean G. Foushee and husband, David, of Kannapolis, Martha Godwin of Statesville, and Elaine Sullivan of Reidsville; brother, Frank Wetherington of Valdosta, GA; five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
