Mrs. Betty Cashion Hubbard, 71, of Wilkinson Court, Concord, and formerly of Kannapolis, went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her children with lots of love, Monday, February 1, 2010 at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Curtis Parker will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, they will be at the home of a daughter, Lisa Plott, 7510 Tuckaseegee Road, Kannapolis. Born January 15, 1939 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Cashion and Parksie Smith Cashion. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She worked for many years as an EKG technician at the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. She later worked for Security Bank. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hubbard; a son, Richard Lee "Rick" Hubbard; and a grandson, Matthew Plott. Survivors include two daughters, Kenya Waggoner and husband, Butch, of China Grove, Lisa Plott and husband, Mark, of Kannapolis; a son, Michael Ray Hubbard of Kannapolis; one sister, Louise Waller of Kannapolis; eight grandchildren, Chad Hubbard, Ashlee Hubbard, Amber Mantooth, Adam Plott, Cole Plott, Carleigh Plott, Joshua Waggoner and Anna McCombs; and three great-grandchildren, Landon McCombs, Logan McCombs and Annabelle Hubbard. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
